Well, it has been about a year and a half since I first announced that we were developing the Strange World Role-playing Game. I bet you are all wondering what's up with it. Here is the update:
I'm currently writing the next-to-last chapter. That's probably not as far along as you would have thought, but this is a different kind of RPG project. This is a non-fiction book, and as such, it requires a lot of research. I have spent a lot of time on each topic, each paranormal phenomenon to make sure the book has enough substance for those who love the paranormal, but are not necessarily interested in the game. All of the game elements have been completed, and I'm now just finishing up the "Paranormal Investigator's Handbook," which is the final chapters of the book. They are the hardest chapters to write, but I think they will be worth the wait!
However, I am well aware that people want to see it soon, and that is why I have been releasing these Sneak Peeks. These freebees look much like what they will in the finished product, but they have not gone through the final layout yet. This means that they may look a bit different by the time the book releases, but they give you a good feel for the book.
After the writing, comes the editing. I will give it a pass, and then hand it off to a freelance editor. While the editor is doing his thing, I will begin layout. This sounds like a long process, but I already have the template set up and I have some of the art already.
So, there we are. Will it release this year? I hope so, but I cannot guarantee it. It should be close, though!
